WWII Nazi German Alpenjäger Kaserne Wels Austria Military Barracks Feldpost Card

Original WWII-era German/Austrian postcard showing the Alpenjägerkaserne in Wels, Oberösterreich (Upper Austria).

The photograph provides an excellent panoramic view of the large military barracks complex, with the main entrance and long rows of buildings visible in the distance. The caption on the front reads:

“Alpenjägerkaserne in Wels Ob. Donau”
Translation: “Alpine Jäger Barracks in Wels, Upper Danube.”

The reverse is especially interesting. It bears a purple military unit/cachet stamp featuring the German eagle and swastika, with the visible wording indicating a Gebirgsjäger / mountain troop unit. The handwritten date appears to be 10/1/1940. The card appears to have been sent without an adhesive postage stamp, consistent with military/Feldpost usage.
