1937 Nazi German Third Reich DAF Building Düsseldorf DAF Exhibition Postcard w Swastika Flags Banners

Original 1937 German postcard produced for the Große Reichsausstellung Schaffendes Volk (“Great Reich Exhibition of the Creative People”) held in Düsseldorf.

The front is captioned:

“Haupteingang zur Ausstellung”
Translation: “Main Entrance to the Exhibition.”

The photograph provides an excellent period view of the monumental main entrance to the exhibition grounds. The avenue is lined with enormous banners and flanked by two massive stone sculptures, with visitors and several period automobiles visible in the foreground.

Most notably, the building directly in the center carries a large swastika emblem and the inscription:

“Die Deutsche Arbeitsfront”
Translation: “The German Labour Front.”

The Deutsche Arbeitsfront (DAF) was one of the principal organizations of Nazi Germany and played an important role in the exhibition.

The reverse is clearly printed:

“Große Reichsausstellung 1937 – SCHAFFENDES VOLK – Düsseldorf-Schlageterstadt”

It also carries the publisher information:

“Platow’s Kunstanstalt, Düsseldorf, Ruf 26915”

and the Echte Photographie (“Genuine Photograph”) marking with card number Br. 6088.

The postcard appears unused and unmailed, with no address, message, postage stamp, or postal cancellation. There is an old penciled collector notation on the reverse.

A particularly impressive original photographic postcard documenting the architecture, symbolism, banners, automobiles, and monumental scale of the 1937 Schaffendes Volk exhibition in Düsseldorf.

Condition shows normal age, handling wear, light staining/toning and minor edge/corner wear. Please examine the photographs carefully for exact condition.
