Original Third Reich-era German Invalidenversicherung (Invalidity Insurance) document group issued in Berlin to Gertrud Domnick, née Taeger, born 2 November 1910 in Berlin.
The principal document is an official:
“Invalidenversicherung – Quittungskarte A für Pflichtversicherung und Weiterversicherung”
Translation: “Invalidity Insurance – Receipt Card A for Compulsory Insurance and Continued Insurance.”
The card was issued through the Landesversicherungsanstalt Berlin and bears a large purple official Dienstsiegel der Ausgabestelle with the Third Reich eagle and swastika. The issuing-office stamp appears to read Polizeipräsident in Berlin – 231. Polizeirevier. The card is dated 4 May 1942.
The group is especially interesting because it retains its original “Einlage zur Quittungskarte Nr. 1” insurance insert. This records Gertrud Domnick’s employment during 1943 and 1944 and bears several period company and insurance stamps.
One of the clearest is:
“Betriebskrankenkasse der AEG und Tochtergesellschaften Berlin N 4”
This identifies the AEG company health-insurance fund, tying the document directly to one of Germany’s major wartime electrical and industrial manufacturers.
Another employer stamp appears to reference Apparate-Fabriken Treptow, making this an especially interesting piece of Berlin industrial and home-front history.
Also included is a smaller KrK form concerning a period of Arbeitsunfähigkeit (incapacity for work), again identifying Gertrud and giving her birth date. Together, the pieces form a much more complete employment/social-insurance record than a single loose Quittungskarte.
Archival holdings confirm that Berlin AEG records from this period include Invaliden-Versicherungskarten and insurance/payroll documentation dating from 1939–45. The Quittungskarte system was used to document insurance contributions and employment periods; wartime regulations changed the system in 1942 so that earnings and employment periods were increasingly entered directly onto these cards and supplemental sheets.
Included: main Invalidenversicherung Quittungskarte, attached/fold-out contribution section, employment insurance insert with AEG stamps, and smaller KrK work-incapacity form, all as shown.
Condition: Original used condition with age toning, edge wear, small tears/chipping along the upper edges, folds, handwriting and period official/company stamps. The documents remain very displayable with excellent clear stamps. Please examine all photographs carefully for exact condition and contents.
Excellent original paperwork for a collection focused on Third Reich documents, WWII Berlin, AEG, German industrial history, home-front material, social insurance, wartime employment records, German bureaucracy, Dienstsiegel, or original WWII ephemera.
