WWII Nazi German Third Reich Wedding Card w Cover 1941 Hitler Stamp Postal History Flowers

Original WWII-era German wedding congratulations card with its original mailed envelope, dating from 1941.

The front of the card features an attractive floral arrangement with white flowers, evergreen branches and decorative greenery. The printed German greeting reads:

“Zur Vermählung herzliche Glückwünsche”

Translation: “Heartfelt congratulations on your marriage/wedding.”

The card is accompanied by its original period envelope addressed to the Eller family. The envelope is particularly interesting to postal-history collectors, retaining a 12 Pfennig Deutsches Reich Adolf Hitler definitive postage stamp, tied by the original circular postal cancellation. A period machine slogan cancellation is also visible alongside the stamp.

The reverse of the card contains a handwritten presentation from what appears to be several family members or friends. Some of the handwriting is difficult to decipher, but the names appear to include Onkel Michel and Tante Anna, followed by additional names and a place that appears to read Plauen/Vogtl. (“Vogtl.” being the common abbreviation for Vogtland).

A very nice combination of WWII German postal history, Third Reich philately and everyday civilian/social history, showing a wedding greeting actually sent through the German postal system during the war.

Condition: Original period-used condition with age toning, handling wear, edge/corner wear and some creasing/wear to the envelope as shown. Card displays nicely. Please examine all photographs carefully for exact condition.
