EPIC BATTLE FLAG SHOT! WWII German Wehrmacht Soldiers Aboard Kriegsmarine Ship – Reich War Flag Photo

An epic original WWII German photograph capturing a dramatic scene at sea, showing a group of Wehrmacht soldiers aboard a Kriegsmarine vessel as the ship moves through heavy, churning water.

Dominating the photograph is a large Reichskriegsflagge (German War Ensign) flying prominently above the soldiers. The flag displays the highly recognizable Iron Cross and swastika design and was used as the naval war ensign aboard Kriegsmarine warships.

The composition makes this an especially impressive photograph—the soldiers crowded along the deck, rough sea and wake filling the background, and the large battle flag captured fully extended by the wind. The image gives an excellent sense of being underway aboard a wartime German vessel.

Several of the men appear to be wearing field uniforms rather than standard Kriegsmarine naval uniforms, suggesting Wehrmacht troops being transported aboard the vessel, although the exact ship and circumstances cannot be determined from the photograph alone.

A fantastic display photograph and an unusually strong image for a collection centered on the Kriegsmarine, Wehrmacht, German naval operations, troop transportation, flags, or original WWII photography.

Condition: Original period black-and-white photograph with light age and handling wear. Minor corner/edge wear is visible. Please see photographs for exact condition.
