Comrades! WWII German Kriegsmarine Sailor & Soldier Friendship Photo – Leather Jacket

A great original WWII-era German photograph showing two servicemen posing together in an informal and unusually personable portrait.

On the right is a Kriegsmarine sailor, readily identifiable by his traditional naval cap and sailor-style jumper. Kriegsmarine enlisted sailors and petty officers wore the characteristic naval jumper and sailor collar seen in period uniforms.

His companion is dressed in a striking dark leather military-style jacket with tall boots, giving the photograph excellent uniform and equipment interest. The two men have their arms around one another and are smiling, creating a particularly good wartime friendship/comradeship photograph rather than the more typical formal studio portrait.
