WWII German Army Wehrmacht Mass Parade & Swearing-In Ceremony Swastika Battle Flag Photo

An outstanding original WWII German photograph showing a massive formation of Wehrmacht soldiers assembled for what appears to be a formal military parade, gathering, or swearing-in ceremony (Vereidigung).

Hundreds of uniformed soldiers can be seen arranged in organized formations surrounding the central ceremonial area. At the far end stands a raised podium or altar-like centerpiece prominently displaying a large swastika and military flag, providing an exceptionally striking focal point to the photograph.

The overall arrangement is consistent with period Wehrmacht Vereidigung ceremonies, during which large formations of soldiers assembled around the colors for the military oath. Period photographs held by the German Federal Archives show similarly large formations at Wehrmacht recruit swearing-in ceremonies.

The reverse carries an original handwritten notation that appears to include “1944” and what looks like “Rekruten-Vereidigung”, further supporting identification of the scene as a recruit swearing-in ceremony. Some of the handwriting is difficult to decipher completely, so please refer to the photographs of the reverse.

This is an exceptionally impressive wide-angle military photograph, especially because of the enormous number of assembled troops, formal formations, central ceremonial display, and clearly visible Third Reich symbolism.

The photograph retains its attractive original scalloped/deckle edges and would make an excellent addition to a collection of Wehrmacht photographs, military ceremonies, German flags, or WWII photographic history.

Condition: Original period black-and-white photograph showing normal age and handling wear. Handwritten period notation on reverse. Please see all photographs for exact condition.
