2 WWII US Army Field Hospital Red Cross Medic Photos American Flag Tents Jeeps

Nice pair of original WWII-era photographs showing what appears to be a U.S. Army field hospital or medical camp set up in a large open field.

The first photograph is particularly interesting, showing several uniformed personnel at camp doing a flag raising and salute. A large American flag prominently flying beside rows of military field tents. The men have red cross medical armbands, adding considerable interest to the scene.

The second photograph provides an excellent wide view of the installation, showing numerous red cross tents, military vehicles, Jeeps, trucks, equipment, and personnel spread across the field. Together the two photographs give a great look at the layout and operation of a wartime American military encampment.

The backs contain period handwritten captions. One appears to read “Retreat: …”, while the other begins “Camp at St Joe”; the remaining handwriting is difficult to decipher with certainty, so please refer to the photographs of the backs.

Both have attractive deckle/scalloped edges and measure approximately 4¼ x 2¾ inches based on the ruler shown.

A very interesting matched pair for collectors of WWII U.S. Army photography, field hospitals, military medical history, Jeeps, vehicles, camps, and original wartime snapshots.

Original period photographs. Condition is as shown with normal age, handling and surface wear. Please examine all photos carefully for condition and see ruler for size comparison.
