WWII German 1941 Fire Brigade Photos Chrome Firemen Helmets Pomerania

Interesting pair of original WWII-era German photographs showing a German fire brigade during a fire service exercise on March 2, 1941.

The photographs show a group of firemen wearing their distinctive highly polished/chrome-style German fire brigade helmets. One image captures the firemen moving through a town street alongside their equipment and vehicle, while the second provides a closer candid view of one of the helmeted firemen among a group of spectators.

The handwritten period captions on the backs are especially useful because they identify the event and date. They read:

“Feuerwehrtag in St. S. 2.3.41”
and
“Feuerwehrübung in St. S. am 2.3.41”

Translation:

“Fire Brigade Day in St. S., March 2, 1941”
“Fire brigade exercise in St. S. on March 2, 1941.”

One photograph also bears a period photographer’s stamp reading “Foto Köpp 140 Falkenburg Pom.”, indicating Falkenburg in Pomerania (Pommern).

An excellent matched pair documenting German civilian fire-service activity during WWII, with particularly nice views of the period helmets, uniforms, equipment and town setting.

Both photographs show normal age and handling wear consistent with original period photographs. See ruler in photos for size comparison. You will receive the exact two photographs shown.
