WWII German Knight’s Cross Ritterkreuz Deluxe LDO Presentation Case w/ Outer Box

Offered here is an exceptional-quality reproduction presentation case and outer cardboard box for the WWII German Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross (Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes).

This is an especially impressive display case made in the traditional style associated with the Knight’s Cross. The exterior of the presentation case is finished in textured black leatherette with a silver-colored LDO-style emblem centered on the lid and a small metal push-button closure.

Opening the case reveals a white satin-style padded lid lining and a deep black velvet fitted interior. Most importantly, the lower interior is specifically formed with a recessed cross-shaped area designed to securely accommodate a Knight’s Cross, together with a separate recessed compartment above it for the folded neck ribbon. This fitted arrangement closely follows the presentation layout used for period Knight’s Cross cases.

Also included is the matching brown protective outer cardboard box, prominently printed:

RITTERKREUZ DES EISERNEN KREUZES

At the bottom it is additionally marked:

Nur vom Empfänger zu öffnen
Translation: “To be opened only by the recipient.”

The inclusion of the outer box makes this a particularly attractive display set. Period Knight’s Cross cases were themselves supplied in protective cardboard outer cartons, although these were frequently discarded, which is one reason complete original combinations are so desirable among collectors today.

This offering is for the presentation case and outer cardboard box only — Knight’s Cross and ribbon are NOT included.

An excellent accessory for completing a loose reproduction Knight’s Cross, upgrading an existing display, or creating a historically styled presentation set. The fitted black velvet interior makes the decoration and neck ribbon display especially well when installed.

Please examine the photographs carefully for the exact style, construction, interior configuration and overall condition.
