Original 1945 WW2 Nazi German Female RAD RADwJ Reichsarbeitsdienst Discharge Certificate – Düsseldorf

Original late-war German Reichsarbeitsdienst discharge certificate issued to a female member of the RADwJ (Reichsarbeitsdienst der weiblichen Jugend / Reich Labor Service for Female Youth) in February 1945.

The scarce late war document is headed “Reichsarbeitsdienst-Entlassungsschein wJ,” translating to “Reich Labor Service Discharge Certificate – Female Youth.” This was an important personal service document issued upon release from the RAD and also functioned as a 3rd-class railway travel pass for the recipient’s journey home.

The certificate appears to have been issued to Rita Schell, born August 29, 1927, in Düsseldorf. Her recorded RAD service runs from May 1, 1944 through February 20, 1945, meaning she was only about 16–17 years old during her period of service. The document records her release back to Düsseldorf.

Especially interesting is the very late-war date. The main certification is dated February 19, 1945, with additional official registration on the reverse dated February 26, 1945—only a little over two months before the end of the war in Europe.

The front carries a large circular Reichsarbeitsdienst official ink stamp incorporating the RAD eagle and swastika emblem, along with multiple handwritten entries and signatures. The printed “Weibliche Jugend” designation is clearly visible. The lower portion incorporates a “Kraftomnibus-Fahrausweis” motor-bus travel-pass section.

The reverse contains extensive printed regulations concerning discharge from the Reich Labor Service, registration with police and food-ration authorities, employment-office requirements, health-insurance registration and other administrative obligations. It also bears additional Düsseldorf registration stamps dated 26 FEB. 1945.

A particularly interesting piece of late-war German female RAD history, documenting the release of a teenage female member as the war was rapidly approaching Germany itself.

Condition: Heavily used original condition with considerable period and later wear. There are numerous folds, creases, edge tears/losses, holes, staining, tape repairs/reinforcement and general age toning. Despite the condition, the important printed information, handwriting, dates and official stamps remain quite legible. Please see all photographs for exact condition.
