Original period German NSFK (Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps / National Socialist Flyers Corps) illustrated aviation booklet featuring extensive coverage of German flying, aviation training, model aircraft, gliders, powered aircraft, ballooning and physical training.

This is a particularly visual NSFK publication with numerous large black-and-white photographs throughout. The cover features a dramatic Nürnberg parade scene showing uniformed NSFK personnel marching with standards past a reviewing platform, while the lower portion carries the slogan “NSFK fliegt!” — “NSFK flies!”

Inside, the booklet provides an interesting overview of the different branches and activities of the NSFK. Sections shown include “Modellflug im NSFK” covering model aviation and the construction and competition of model gliders and powered aircraft; “Segelflug im NSFK” covering glider flying and training; “Motorflug im NSFK” covering powered aviation; “Der Freiballon im NSFK” covering free-balloon aviation; “Wehrsport im NSFK” covering physical and paramilitary-style sporting training; and “Der Förderer im NSFK” discussing supporting members and the organization’s aviation activities.

The model-aircraft section is especially interesting, showing a huge gathering of model gliders and another photograph of several young men preparing a powered model aircraft. The text discusses model-building as preparation for aviation training.

The gliding section contains excellent period photographs of NSFK gliders, including an aircraft captioned “Gleitflugzeug für Anfängerschulung im Fluge” — approximately “glider for beginner flight training” — as well as the launch of a sailplane from the Wasserkuppe, one of the most important centers of German gliding.

The powered-flight section includes photographs of aircraft at an NSFK aviation school and an impressive in-flight photograph captioned “Korpsführer Christiansen am Steuer einer Messerschmitt 108 ‘Taifun’”, identifying NSFK Korpsführer Friedrich Christiansen at the controls of a Messerschmitt Bf 108 Taifun. Several aircraft display prominent period markings.

Another excellent section, “Der Freiballon im NSFK,” illustrates large free balloons being inflated and assembled before a mass launch. Individual balloons carry regional names, providing an excellent view of German sport ballooning during the period.

The “Wehrsport im NSFK” pages show uniformed NSFK personnel marching and participating in running/physical training. The text specifically references the 1937 Nationalsozialistische Kampfspiele and NSFK training activities.

A later section includes photographs captioned “Fliegerhandwerker-Wettbewerb” and “Stand des NSFK in Mailand 1937,” showing an NSFK aviation exhibition display in Milan, Italy, in 1937.

The inside front portion also contains a printed extract discussing NSFK regulations and bears the printed notation “gez.: Adolf Hitler.” Another page is captioned “Das NSFK in Nürnberg.”

Condition

The booklet is in used period condition with age toning, handling wear, edge and corner wear and other normal signs of age. Most importantly, the front cover has been cut across the lower portion as clearly shown in the photographs. The cut section remains present and opens/moves separately, but this is a significant condition issue and is reflected in the listing photographs. Interior pages remain attractive with strong photographs and generally clear, readable printing. Please examine all photos carefully for exact condition and completeness.

Despite the damaged front cover, this remains a very displayable and historically interesting original NSFK aviation publication, particularly because of its extensive photographic coverage of Messerschmitt aircraft, gliders, model airplanes, balloons, Nürnberg activities, aviation training and the 1937 Milan exhibition.

Offered strictly as a historical and collectible artifact. No political or ideological endorsement is intended.
