Original vintage German cigarette/tobacco picture-card lot of 12 cards from the “Der Weltkrieg (1914) – Kriegsbeginn im Osten” series, documenting the opening campaigns of World War I on the Eastern Front.

The fronts feature detailed color military scenes including German and allied troops, artillery, cavalry, field operations, wounded soldiers, supply and field-bakery activity, and wartime scenes. The backs contain the corresponding German historical descriptions.

Most are marked Eckstein | Halpaus Rarität Nr. 5, while the group also includes cards marked ALVA Runde Sorte and Haus Bergmann Privat. This makes for an interesting mixed-tobacco-brand grouping from the same WWI picture-card series.
