12 WWII Nazi German Third Reich Cigarette Tobacco Cards Die Deutsche Wehrmacht Military

Original 12-card WWII German cigarette/tobacco picture-card lot from the “Die deutsche Wehrmacht” series. These period collector cards feature color military scenes covering a wide variety of German armed-forces subjects, including infantry, Kriegsmarine vessels, armored vehicles, cavalry, combat engineers, machine-gun troops and diving operations.

An especially interesting feature of this grouping is that the cards were distributed by several different German cigarette brands, including Josetti Juno, Eckstein-Halpaus, Kurmark-Saba / Garbáty, making this more interesting than a group from only one manufacturer.

Subjects identified from the backs include:

• Bild Nr. 47 – Voltigieren – military horsemanship/cavalry training
• Bild Nr. 51 – “Sicherer” – advancing infantry with flank/security troops
• Bild Nr. 54 – Infanteriegeschützkompanie – infantry gun company
• Bild Nr. 54 – Infanteriegeschützkompanie – second example with different cigarette advertising
• Bild Nr. 58 – sMG. als Fliegerschutz – heavy machine gun employed for aircraft defense
• Bild Nr. 65 – Durchschneiden eines Drahthindernisses – troops cutting through a wire obstacle
• Bild Nr. 76 – Durch die Furt – mounted troops crossing a ford
• Bild Nr. 123 – Panzerspähwagen – armored reconnaissance car
• Bild Nr. 143 – Nebelzerstäuber – smoke-producing equipment used to conceal troops and installations
• Bild Nr. 164 – Der neue Aviso “Grille” – German Kriegsmarine aviso Grille
• Bild Nr. 170 – Panzerschiff “Admiral Graf Spee” an der Boje – German pocket battleship Admiral Graf Spee
• Bild Nr. 218 – Taucher bei der Arbeit – naval diver at work

The fronts are particularly attractive, with detailed color scenes showing steel-helmet infantry operating a machine gun, Admiral Graf Spee, an armored reconnaissance vehicle, a naval diver, soldiers working around wire obstacles, cavalry and horse-mounted troops, military transport columns, smoke equipment and other field activities.

Several cards advertise the complete 270-picture “Die deutsche Wehrmacht” Sammelalbum on the reverse.
