WWII German Sweethearts Wehrmacht Army Soldiers Military Song Postcard Ruck Zuck

Original period German military song postcard for “Ruck Zuck,” with both text and music credited to Herms Niel, one of the best-known German military-song composers of the period.

The upper illustration depicts a uniformed soldier embracing a woman in an Alpine setting. Beneath it are the printed lyrics, which tell of a soldier’s sweetheart living on an Alm (Alpine pasture), their romance and his departure for military service.

The combination of military imagery, romance, Alpine scenery and Herms Niel attribution makes this an interesting period song card.

Back is completely unused with no writing, stamps, or postal markings. Condition as shown with normal age and handling wear.
