WWII Nazi German Third Reich 1944 Adolf Hitler 55th Birthday Stamp Sheet – 6 Berlin Cancels April 20

Original WWII German philatelic display piece featuring six 1944 Adolf Hitler 55th Birthday commemorative postage stamps, each individually cancelled BERLIN W 20.4.44, the date of Hitler’s 55th birthday.

The stamps are the 1944 54+96 Reichspfennig birthday commemorative issue, showing a profile portrait surrounded by a decorative frame and the date “20. April 1944.” All six examples are mounted in two neat rows of three on a large period paper/card backing.

What makes this piece especially attractive is the uniformity of the postal markings. Each stamp carries a bold circular Berlin cancellation dated April 20, 1944, giving the entire display a strong contemporary dated presentation rather than being a group of unrelated used examples.

The stamps appear to have been intentionally assembled as a philatelic souvenir or collector display, although the exact circumstances of its creation are unknown.

Details: Six original 1944 German birthday commemorative stamps; 54+96 Reichspfennig denomination; all cancelled Berlin 20.4.44; stamps remain affixed to the original-looking backing as found. Condition shows normal age and handling consistent with an approximately 80-year-old philatelic piece. Please examine the photograph closely for exact condition.

An impressive display item for a specialized collection of Third Reich stamps, WWII German postal history, Berlin cancellations, April 20 commemorative issues and wartime German philately.
