RARE! 1876 German Bavaria Telegraph Stamp Lot 10 20 40 80 Pfennig 1 Mark MNH Germany

Interesting 5-piece collection of early Bavaria (Bayern) telegraph stamps from the 1876 Pfennig/Mark issue. These are specialized revenue/telegraph stamps rather than ordinary postage stamps and feature the embossed Bavarian coat of arms surrounded by “TELEGRAPH” lettering.

Included are:

• 10 Pfennig – gray
• 20 Pfennig – violet
• 40 Pfennig – blue, with right sheet margin
• 80 Pfennig – green, with upper sheet margin
• 1 Mark – yellow, with upper sheet margin

The 1876 Bavarian telegraph series was issued in 10, 20, 25, 40 and 80 Pfennig and 1, 2, 4, 10 and 20 Mark denominations.

All five examples are MNH. Several retain attractive sheet margins, including the 40 Pf right-margin example and the 80 Pf and 1 Mark upper-margin examples.

The raised embossed coat-of-arms design remains particularly attractive on this early issue. A nice group for collectors of Bavaria, Altdeutschland, German telegraph stamps, revenues and specialized 19th-century German philately.

Condition: MNH –  Typical age-related gum toning/marks and minor handling are visible. Please review all photographs carefully for perforations, margins, gum and exact condition.
