WWII Nazi German 1941 Leipzig Reichsmesse Mi 765 Postcard Special Cancel Nürnberg

Original WWII-era German postal card featuring the 1941 Leipzig Reichsmesse 6 Pfennig postage stamp, identified on the accompanying collector notation as Michel #765.

The card has an especially attractive and very clear Leipzig Reichsmessestadt special cancellation, dated 31 August 1941, reading:

LEIPZIG – PRESSE-POSTAMT – HAUS DER NATIONEN – REICHSMESSESTADT

A second full strike of the same special cancel appears prominently on the address side, giving this piece excellent postal-history display appeal.

The card is addressed to Herr Hans Knorr, Nürnberg-S, Jahnstraße No. 16/I, r.

The accompanying collector card identifies the cancellation as:

“Sonderstempel Postamt C 1 Leipzig
Sonderstempel V
Pressepostamt / Haus der Nationen
30.VIII.–4.IX.41
Leipziger Herbstmesse 1941”

Translation

Special Cancellation, Post Office C1 Leipzig
Special Cancel V – Press Post Office / House of Nations
August 30 – September 4, 1941

The collector notation further identifies the attached stamp as Michel Catalog No. 765, issued for the Leipzig Spring Fair 1941.

A strong WWII German postal-history item combining the Reichsmesse stamp, Leipzig Autumn Fair usage, Press Post Office cancel, House of Nations inscription, dated special cancellations, and original period postal card.

Condition is as shown, with normal age toning and minor handling wear. The separate old collector identification card shown in the photographs is included.
