1933 Nazi German Third Reich Polizei Police Registration Form Document Cologne Köln Family

Original 1933 German police registration document, titled “Polizeiliche Anmeldung (Großer Meldeschein)” — Police Registration / Large Registration Certificate.

The document records a family registering a change of residence on March 1, 1933, making this an interesting piece of German civil-administration history from the opening months of the Third Reich.

The form appears to record Heinrich Klein together with his wife and child. The entries include occupations, dates and places of birth, citizenship, religion, previous residence and new address. The principal individual appears to be listed as a Chemiker (chemist), born November 30, 1896 in Köln (Cologne).

The family appears to have moved from an address in Köln to Neuwied, with the new address entered as Reutlingerstraße 6 (handwriting somewhat difficult to decipher).

Of particular collector interest are the multiple period official markings, including a prominent Cologne police eagle stamp, dated administrative handstamps and additional registration-office markings. The form is signed at the bottom and dated March 2, 1933.

The reverse contains the printed “Auszug aus der Polizeiverordnung über das Meldewesen” — an extract from the police regulations governing registration requirements — with detailed rules covering registration, changes of residence, household members, temporary accommodations and reporting obligations.

This is a substantial double-sided civil document offering an interesting snapshot of the German population-registration system in 1933, with extensive handwritten family information and multiple official police/municipal markings.

Condition is well used but displays nicely. There are heavy period folds, edge tears, losses, creasing, staining, toning and general handling wear, particularly around the edges and fold intersections. Please examine all photographs carefully for exact condition.
