Captured Jewish Soviet Russian Soldier WW2 Nazi German Anti Semitic Third Reich Art Print

Original WWII-era German printed portrait plate depicting a Soviet soldier, signed in the image and dated “19 Juli 41” (19 July 1941). The portrait is presented as No. 20 in what appears to have been a German wartime propaganda or instructional series.

The reverse contains both a printed German caption and a handwritten version of essentially the same text. The material reflects the antisemitic and anti-Soviet propaganda language used by Nazi Germany during the war and is offered strictly as a historical artifact.

Printed German caption:

“20. Jüdischer Bolschewist.
Unverkennbar — der besondere Freund der Roosevelt und Churchill, gefangener jüdischer Sowjetsoldat.”

English translation:

“20. Jewish Bolshevik.
Unmistakable — the special friend of Roosevelt and Churchill, a captured Jewish Soviet soldier.”

The handwritten inscription similarly reads:

“Unverkennbar — der besondere Freund der Roosevelt und Churchill, Gefangener jüdischer Sowjetsoldat.”

The portrait itself bears what appears to be an artist’s signature along with the date 19 July 1941, only weeks after Germany’s invasion of the Soviet Union began in June 1941.

An unusual surviving piece of WWII German printed material combining a dated military portrait with contemporary propaganda text. Particularly interesting for collectors studying the Eastern Front, German wartime propaganda, Soviet POW material, or the visual culture of the period.

Condition: Vintage condition with expected age toning and handling wear. The portrait remains clear and the handwritten and printed captions remain legible. Please examine all photographs carefully for exact condition.
