WWI Imperial German Feldpost Combat Scene Postcard Russian Polish Front 1914-15 Poland

Original WWI German military Feldpost picture postcard depicting a combat scene from the Russian-Polish theater of war during 1914–1915.

The front features a dramatic battlefield illustration showing troops advancing across a snowy landscape with artillery fire or shell bursts visible in the distance. Printed in red at the bottom is “Gefechtsbild von Budi Sulkowsky” (Battle Scene of Budi Sulkowsky).

The reverse identifies this as Series I – Ansichtsfeldpostkarte vom russ.-poln. Kriegsschauplatz 1914–15 and credits the artist W. Starke, who was serving at the time as a Gefreiter der Landwehr, Infanterie-Regiment 101, 16. Kompanie. Published by Wanderschriften-Zentrale, Hellerau bei Dresden.

The front has extensive period handwritten pencil annotations, apparently identifying positions or features within the battlefield scene. These markings give the card considerably more character than an unused example and may warrant further research.

Period WWI German military postcard, circa 1915–1916.

Condition shows age, handling wear, creasing and period pencil writing as pictured. Reverse is unused for postal correspondence. Please examine all photos carefully for exact condition.

A nice original WWI German Feldpost collectible relating to the Eastern Front, Russian-Polish theater, Infanterie-Regiment 101 and wartime military artwork.
