WWI Imperial German 1915 Military Wartime Feldpost Postcard Leibniz Keks Soldier

Original WWI German Feldpost advertising postcard produced for H. Bahlsens Keks-Fabrik, Hannover, featuring the famous Leibniz Keks.

The colorful artwork shows German soldiers gathered with a horse while receiving and opening packages of Bahlsen products. Several packages prominently display the Leibniz Keks name and the distinctive red TET trademark.

This is an interesting example of commercial advertising incorporated into German military Feldpost during World War I. Bahlsen produced a series of illustrated military advertising postcards during the war featuring soldiers and its well-known biscuits.

The reverse is headed “Feldpostkarte” and is postally used with handwritten correspondence. It bears a strong K.D. Feld-Postamt military postal cancellation dated 1915, along with a light blue military unit handstamp identifying 2. Komp. Gd. Res. Jäg. B. — 2nd Company, Guard Reserve Jäger Battalion.

The card was manufactured by H. Bahlsens Keks-Fabrik, Hannover.
