WW2 German Third Reich NSDAP Austrian Soldiers Edition on the front book 1943

Original 1943 wartime booklet titled “Da is amol bei uns dahoam…” by Austrian author Franz Resl, published by Verlag Leitner & Co., Wels. This scarce pocket-sized publication contains humorous stories written in Upper Austrian dialect and was intended to provide entertainment and a connection to home for soldiers serving on distant fronts.
Inside is a dedication addressed to German soldiers and signed in print by August Eigruber, Gauleiter and Reichsstatthalter of Oberdonau. The text explains that the booklet was sent to soldiers from the Oberdonau region to bring them a small piece of home during difficult times.
A particularly interesting feature is the blue circular stamp on the cover from the:
“Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei – Amt für Kriegsopfer – Ortsgruppe Eferding-Land”
making this an attractive and uncommon example of wartime social welfare and home-front literature.

“Dear Soldiers! Your service on the distant battlefields and occupied territories, far from home, occupies your lives completely. In order to bring home closer to you during your few free hours, I asked our well-known Upper Danube humorist Franz Resl to make his writings available. This little book is intended not only as greetings from home, but also to bring you a little joy during difficult times.”
Followed by:
“Heil Hitler!”
and the printed signature of August Eigruber, Gauleiter and Reichsstatthalter.
Condition is as shown in the photographs. Light age toning and wear from use, but overall a very nice surviving example of a scarce wartime booklet with a desirable NSDAP office stamp.
