An exceptional and rarely encountered survivor—a complete collection of three original 1931 issues of the famous German illustrated weekly Die Woche that have remarkably remained in their original mailing wrappers exactly as they were shipped from Germany to the United States over 90 years ago. Finding a single periodical still enclosed in its original export wrapper is uncommon; discovering three together addressed to the same recipient is exceptionally scarce.

Each magazine was mailed from G. E. Stechert & Co., Leipzig, Germany, to Mr. Albert H. Moore, 3 Divinity Ave., Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S.A. The original wrappers feature colorful “From Germany! Eilige Drucksache!” labels, German postage stamps, postal cancellations, and bilingual customs mailing labels, creating a wonderful combination of postal history and publishing history.
