Striking original period German photograph dated June 9, 1934, showing a large nighttime outdoor gathering or commemorative ceremony during the early Third Reich period.
The scene is particularly impressive, with a large crowd assembled around what appears to be a brick memorial or ceremonial structure, illuminated by an intense light or flame. Multiple enormous swastika banners dominate the scene, along with additional standards and flag bearers positioned at the front of the gathering. Men, women, children, uniformed participants, and numerous spectators can be seen throughout the photograph.
The reverse bears an original handwritten German inscription ending with the clearly written date:
“am 9. Juni 1934” — “on June 9, 1934.”
There is also an embossed German photographic-paper/manufacturer marking along the edge of the reverse.
The photograph has attractive period deckle edges and measures approximately 5¼ × 3¾ inches based on the ruler shown.
A visually dramatic and unusual early Third Reich photograph with excellent period detail and exceptionally prominent political banners. Suitable for collectors of original German photography, political history, propaganda imagery, ceremonies, flags and pre-WWII historical material.
