Excellent grouping of 5 original 1936 German tobacco/cigarette collector cards from Sammelwerk Nr. 15 “Adolf Hitler,” produced for the well-known red-cover ZBA Adolf Hitler cigarette-picture album.

This is an especially interesting military-themed group. Subjects include Admiral Graf Spee, a Kriegsmarine fleet visit, heavy anti-aircraft artillery, the 1935 Wehrmacht Day at Nürnberg, and an unusual color reproduction of one of Hitler’s 1914 watercolor paintings of the Alter Hof in Munich.

Each card retains its original printed reverse with its Bild number, Gruppe number and contemporary German caption.

The photograph shows a huge crowd assembled at a German shipyard for the launching of the famous Kriegsmarine Panzerschiff Admiral Graf Spee. Shipyard cranes dominate the background while sailors, workers and spectators crowd both sides of the slipway.

The Admiral Graf Spee would later become one of the best-known German warships of WWII, particularly for its commerce-raiding cruise and the Battle of the River Plate in December 1939.

This is another particularly strong Kriegsmarine/naval card from the series.

3. Bild Nr. 164 – Gruppe 67 – Wehrmacht Day / Heavy Anti-Aircraft Artillery

The photograph shows a German heavy anti-aircraft gun and crew during the 1935 Wehrmacht demonstrations. The large artillery piece is shown in firing position with its crew working around the weapon, ammunition containers nearby, and additional guns visible across the field.

These are original period 1936 cigarette/tobacco album cards, not later reproductions.

Condition varies with age and handling. There is light toning, occasional spotting, edge/corner wear and creasing. Bild Nr. 164 has a prominent vertical crease.
