1937 Nazi German Italy Friendship Hitler & Mussolini Photo Hoffmann Postcard

Original 1937 Third Reich real-photo postcard depicting Adolf Hitler and Italian dictator Benito Mussolini inspecting a formation of uniformed German troops during Mussolini’s state visit to Germany.

The caption reads:

“Der Führer und der Duce – ‘Die Garanten des Friedens’”

Translation:

“The Führer and the Duce – ‘The Guarantors of Peace’”

The German Historical Museum identifies this postcard series as dating to September 1937 and specifically associates it with the meeting between Hitler and Mussolini.

This is a particularly striking composition, showing Mussolini prominently in the foreground while Hitler walks alongside him. Behind them is a large formation of steel-helmeted uniformed men, with numerous standards and banners creating an impressive period ceremonial scene.
