4 WWII Nazi German Wehrmacht Army Soldier Military Song Sweetheart Postcard lot

Lot of 4 original WWII-era German military song postcards, each combining period soldier photography with the printed lyrics of popular German songs of the era.

Included are:

• “Wenn ich Urlaub hab’!” – shows a German soldier in uniform carrying his luggage while apparently leaving on furlough. Words by Ralph Maria Siegel, music by Gerhard Winkler.
• “Alle Tage ist kein Sonntag” – shows German soldiers walking with women through a vineyard or countryside setting. Words by Carl Ferdinands, melody by Carl Clewing.
• “Es ist so schön, Soldat zu sein!” – excellent military image showing three uniformed soldiers singing and playing an accordion. Words and music by Herms Niel, with the lyrics repeatedly mentioning Rosemarie.
• “Lili Marleen (Vor der Kaserne, vor dem großen Tor)” – features the famous wartime song with words by Hans Leip and music by Norbert Schultze, illustrated with a view of a barracks entrance and sentry post.

The reverse sides identify Spezial-Verlag Robert Franke, Hamburg 36 and include period publisher and photographic credits.
