Decorated Luftwaffe! Iron Cross – Ground Combat – Anti Aircraft Flak Badges Military wartime photo

Excellent original WWII German photograph showing two highly decorated Luftwaffe soldiers posing together in uniform.

Both men display an impressive assortment of wartime decorations. Visible awards appear to include the Iron Cross 1st Class (EK1), Luftwaffe Ground Assault Badge (Erdkampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe), Luftwaffe Anti-Aircraft Flak Battle Badge (Flak-Kampfabzeichen), along with additional awards/insignia. The combination of the Ground Assault and Flak badges is entirely consistent with experienced Luftwaffe Flak personnel who subsequently participated in ground combat.

The Flak Battle Badge was awarded to Luftwaffe anti-aircraft personnel for qualifying combat service and was worn on the lower left breast, beneath the EK1 when that decoration was also held.

A particularly desirable photograph because both soldiers are heavily decorated, allowing multiple combat awards to be seen being worn together rather than simply showing a standard uniform portrait. Their Luftwaffe field uniforms, caps, collar tabs, shoulder boards, boots and decorations are all visible.

The photograph retains its attractive original scalloped/deckle edges and has a great veteran combat-soldier appearance.
