Nazi German Third Reich DAF Deutsche Arbeitsfront Membership Transfer Form Document w Swastika Cogwheel

Original Third Reich-era Deutsche Arbeitsfront (DAF – German Labour Front) membership and residence-transfer document issued through the Gauverwaltung Kurhessen. The upper left displays the distinctive DAF cogwheel and swastika emblem, making this a particularly recognizable piece of original German labor-organization paperwork.

The document is headed “Wohnungs-Ummeldung,” meaning “Change of Residence / Re-registration.” It was used when a DAF member moved to another residence and was intended to transfer the member’s registration to the appropriate local DAF office. Archival records confirm that the DAF maintained a Gauverwaltung Kurhessen in Kassel, consistent with the organization printed on this form.

This example was filled out for Walter Rohde and contains extensive period handwritten information, including date and place of birth, former residence, new residence, occupation/employment information, membership details and the member’s signature. The destination is printed prominently at upper right as “An Gauverwaltung Kurhessen.”

Especially interesting is the lower-left section, which contains an original purple DAF administrative rubber stamp incorporating the cogwheel/swastika emblem, along with a dated official entry and signature. The form itself was printed by Faubel, Kassel and bears the form designation “Form. Nr. F. Veränd. 1.”

The printed instructions along the bottom explain that every member was required to report the change immediately to the local organization at the new place of residence, and that failure to re-register within the prescribed period could result in termination of membership.

The Deutsche Arbeitsfront was established in 1933 following the destruction of Germany’s independent trade unions and became one of the largest mass organizations of the Third Reich, eventually encompassing millions of German workers.

A strong original DAF document with multiple handwritten entries, member signature, official stamp and two prominent DAF cogwheel/swastika emblems.

Condition is very good overall for an original period paper document, with light age toning, handling wear, minor edge wear and small areas of staining along the upper edge, all exactly as shown.
