Excellent condition crisp lot of 11 original period German cigarette/tobacco album cards from the well-known “Deutschland Erwacht – Werden, Kampf und Sieg der NSDAP” series.
These are from Sammelwerk Nr. 8, Gruppe 30, and the reverse sides identify the individual photographs and explain that the images belonged to the picture groups intended for the bound Deutschland Erwacht collector album.
This is an especially interesting assortment because the cards concentrate heavily on the early history of the NSDAP and SA during the 1920s, including early party gatherings, Munich events, SA formations, standards, street scenes and portraits.

Bild Nr. 8 – “Der Führer, 1921”
Early formal portrait of Adolf Hitler in civilian clothing, identified on the reverse as “Der Führer, 1921.”

Translated: “This is what the SA looked like in 1922.” Shows an early group of uniformed SA men marching together.

Translated: “Adolf Hitler speaks on April 15, 1923 to the German Kampfbund on the Fröttmaninger Heath near Munich.” An interesting early mass gathering scene.
Bild Nr. 13 – “Ein Markstein der Bewegung – Coburg 1922”
Translated: “A Milestone of the Movement – Coburg 1922.” Large group photograph featuring numerous men wearing early party armbands and a prominent swastika flag.
Bild Nr. 17 – “Oberwiesenfeld, 1. Mai 1923”
Translated: “Oberwiesenfeld, May 1, 1923.” Early gathering scene with Hitler and another party member standing above an assembled formation carrying standards.
Bild Nr. 19 – “Die ersten 4 Standarten, München 1923 auf dem Marsfeld”
Translated: “The first four standards, Munich 1923 on the Marsfeld.” Shows an early formation with large NSDAP standards.
Bild Nr. 28 – “Barrikaden in München am 9. November 1923 vor dem Kriegsministerium”
Translated: “Barricades in Munich on November 9, 1923 in front of the War Ministry.” Particularly historical image connected with the events of the Beer Hall Putsch, showing armed men and a street barricade.
Bild Nr. 30 – “Marxistische Stadträte werden verhaftet”
Translated: “Marxist city councilors are arrested.” Shows uniformed men, including steel-helmeted personnel, alongside civilians.
Bild Nr. 35 – “Marsch durch Weimar, Juni 1926”
Translated: “March through Weimar, June 1926.” The reverse actually identifies several individuals in the procession from left to right as Schwarz, Hitler, Rosenberg, Heinemann, Feder, Heß and Albrecht.

About the Series
The reverses identify these as:
“Sammelwerk Nr. 8: Deutschland erwacht – Werden, Kampf und Sieg der NSDAP.”
The printed text explains that the cards belonged to the picture groups for the bound Deutschland Erwacht collector work. It also credits SS-Obersturmführer Felix Albrecht with binding and book decoration, Wilfrid Bade with textual design, and Heinrich Hoffmann, the NSDAP’s official photographic reporter, with supplying the extensive photographic material.
These cards were produced as collectible photographic inserts intended to be assembled into albums, making surviving loose examples interesting pieces of 1930s German tobacco-card and political ephemera history.
