Original 1941 Third Reich Nazi German Insurance Card 244th Police Precinct 10 Swastika Eagle Stamps

Offered here is an original 1941 German Angestelltenversicherung (Salaried Employees’ Insurance) card, an excellent example of the Third Reich-era social insurance system with numerous original contribution stamps still attached.

The front is headed:

“ANGESTELLTENVERSICHERUNG – Versicherungskarte Nr. 1”
Translation: “Salaried Employees’ Insurance – Insurance Card No. 1.”

The document contains the insured person’s handwritten personal information, including name, date and place of birth, residence and occupation.

Especially interesting is the large purple issuing stamp:

“244. Polizeirevier”
21 APR 1941

This identifies the document as having been processed/issued through the 244th Police Precinct in April 1941.

Alongside this is a prominent official circular Reichsversicherungsanstalt für Angestellte stamp featuring the German national eagle and swastika.

When unfolded, the card retains 10 original Angestelltenversicherung contribution stamps, each displaying the national eagle and swastika. The stamps include both B 4 and C 8 denominations/classes and have handwritten dates covering contributions from April 1941 through January 1942. One also carries an additional red cancellation.

These were genuine social-insurance contribution stamps rather than postage stamps. Germany’s historical insurance system documented payments by physically affixing and canceling contribution stamps to insurance cards; official German pension documentation confirms this stamp-based procedure was used for salaried employees through June 1942.

The card is particularly attractive as a display piece because it remains substantially complete, with the police precinct marking, official eagle/swastika seal and ten matching contribution stamps all together on the original document.
