Original German inflation-era postal cover bearing a strip of three Deutsches Reich 100 Mark postage stamps, each tied to the envelope by period circular postal cancellations.

The cover is addressed to Fräulein Fennschen (?) Moosberg, at Trechinedestraat 111, Den Haag, Holland (The Hague, Netherlands). The handwritten notation at upper left appears to indicate “Fr.” / 70, possibly relating to postage or postal handling.

The reverse is especially interesting and retains a handwritten German sender notation. Portions of the old script are difficult to decipher with certainty, but it appears to include:

“Abs.: Rudi … z. H. Hils-Ton-Werke
Brünnhausen b. …
… Braunschweig
Deutschland”

“Abs.” is an abbreviation for Absender, meaning sender. The final lines identify Deutschland (Germany) and appear to reference the Braunschweig area.

An attractive piece of genuine German postal history from the period of rapidly increasing postal rates and currency inflation. The combination of three matching 100 Mark stamps, international destination to Holland, handwritten addressing, cancellations, and surviving sender information makes this a particularly nice display cover for an inflation or Weimar-era collection.

The envelope shows expected age and postal wear, including edge wear, small tears/nicks, creasing, toning and opening wear along the upper edge. The stamps remain well displayed. Please examine all photographs carefully for exact condition.
