Original WW2 Nazi German 1937 KdF German Collectors Exhibition Berlin Special Cancel Third Reich Postcard

Original Third Reich German Kraft durch Freude (KdF) collectors exhibition postcard from 1937, featuring an excellent combination of period artwork, postage and a matching exhibition cancellation.

The illustrated side reads:

“Deutsche Sammler-Gemeinschaft d. NSG ‘Kraft durch Freude’ – Sammeln am Feierabend – Ausstellung Berlin 3.–5. Sept. 1937”

It advertises the “Sammeln am Feierabend” (Collecting in Leisure Time) exhibition held in Berlin, September 3–5, 1937, by the German collectors’ organization associated with Kraft durch Freude. The bottom identifies Reichsleiter Dr. Robert Ley as Schirmherr (patron). The design prominently incorporates the period KdF cogwheel and swastika emblem.

The postal side bears a green 5 Pfennig Deutsches Reich airmail/eagle stamp and an especially attractive large commemorative Berlin W 62 special cancellation dated September 5, 1937. The cancel repeats the event wording:

“Deutsche Sammler-Gemeinschaft der N.S. Gemeinschaft Kraft durch Freude”

with the KdF emblem prominently displayed in the center.

The card was genuinely postally used and addressed in period blue ink to Düsseldorf, adding considerably to its postal-history interest. The September 5 cancellation corresponds to the final day of the advertised September 3–5 exhibition, making this a particularly nice event-used example rather than simply an unused souvenir card.

An excellent original piece combining Third Reich postal history, philately, KdF history, Robert Ley, exhibition memorabilia, special-event cancellation and period propaganda graphics.

Condition:
Very good original used condition with normal age toning and light handling/storage wear. Stamp remains attached and the special cancellation is strong and highly legible. Please examine all photographs for exact condition.
