Original WWII German KLV Lager 45 Swastika Eagle Censored Cover Slovakia Hitler Stamp
$19.99
1 in stock

Offered here is an original WWII German postal cover sent to a KLV camp, addressed to a female camp leader (“Lagerleiterin”) at KLV-Lager 45, Haus Horn, Tatra Lomnica, Slovakia.
The handwritten address reads in part:
“Lagerleiterin H. Sassenscheidt
KLV-Lager 45
Haus Horn
Tatra Lomnica
Slowakei”
The return address identifies the sender as H. Kerbsiek, with an address in Hattingen/Ruhr.
The cover is franked with an original 12 Pfennig Adolf Hitler Deutsches Reich postage stamp, which remains tied by the postal cancellation.
Of particular interest is the extensive wartime censorship evidence. The right side of the envelope was opened and resealed with German censorship tape bearing repeated swastika emblems and “OKW” markings, referring to the Oberkommando der Wehrmacht (Armed Forces High Command). A green censorship/control marking is also visible on the front.
KLV stood for Kinderlandverschickung, the wartime program under which German children were relocated from cities and other areas threatened by Allied air raids to camps and accommodations considered safer. This cover provides a particularly interesting combination of KLV camp history, wartime postal censorship, Slovakia/Tatra Lomnica destination mail, and Third Reich postal history.
The envelope shows genuine postal use with age toning, foxing, edge wear, opening wear and staining consistent with its age. The censorship sealing strip remains prominently visible along the edge. Please see all photographs for exact condition.
A desirable original piece of WWII German KLV and censored postal history with a clearly identified camp destination.
Guaranteed original period item.
