Original WWII German Loyal Comrade Soldiers at the front Employee Dedication Card

Offered here is an original WWII-era German/Austrian presentation or dedication card issued by the Wiener Elektrizitäts-Werke (Vienna Electricity Works) for its employees serving at the front.

The card measures approximately 6″ x 3.75″ and features an attractive central illustration of a German steel helmet with national shield surrounded by oak leaves, enclosed within a decorative border.

The German inscription reads:

“Unseren treuen Kameraden an der Front gewidmet von der Betriebsführung der Wiener Elektrizitäts-Werke”

English Translation:

“Dedicated to our loyal comrades at the front by the management of the Vienna Electricity Works.”

This is an interesting piece of WWII Vienna home-front and industrial history, documenting the relationship between a major municipal utility and employees who had entered military service. The combination of the steel helmet, oak leaves and dedication to comrades “at the front” gives the piece a particularly strong wartime character.

A nice addition to a collection of WWII German and Austrian paper items, Vienna history, industrial ephemera, home-front material, military presentation pieces, or Wiener Elektrizitäts-Werke memorabilia.

Size

Approximately 6″ x 3.75″
