Rare Original WWII Nazi German Allgemeine SS Officer Totenkopf Visor Cap Staff Car Photo

Rare and visually impressive original WWII-era German photograph showing an SS officer standing beside a period German staff/passenger automobile.

The most important feature is the officer’s distinctive SS peaked visor cap (Schirmmütze). The SS visor-cap arrangement used the Totenkopf (death’s-head/skull) insignia on the center band with the SS-pattern eagle above it. Period and surviving examples document this configuration on both Allgemeine-SS and Waffen-SS visor caps.

The officer is wearing a dark uniform with peaked cap, tall boots, belt and shoulder strap and is posed beside a civilian-dressed man. The automobile itself is another excellent period detail, and its front registration plate is clearly visible.

There also appears to be a period ink/ownership or processing stamp on the reverse, along with remnants from previous album mounting.

Photograph measures approximately 3¾ x 2¾ inches (about 9.5 x 7 cm).

Condition: Original vintage photograph with expected age and handling wear. There is a noticeable crease/crack near the upper left corner, light edge wear and age toning. Reverse shows old mounting residue and a period stamp. Please examine all photographs carefully for exact condition.

An unusually strong original image for the advanced collector because it combines SS uniform/headgear detail, clearly visible Totenkopf visor cap, period automobile and registration plate in one photograph.
