Original and scarce postwar German document relating to the return of former Wehrmacht soldier and prisoner of war Gefreiter Willi Schäfer, born 25 May 1924 in Laufersweiler, Rheinland.
Issued by the Landesversicherungsanstalt Hessen (State Insurance Office of Hesse) in Wiesbaden, this “Vorläufiger Behandlungs-Ausweis” (Provisional Treatment Certificate) was prepared following Schäfer’s return from Russian captivity on 31 December 1947.
