Rare WW2 Nazi German Frontkampfer 1935 NSDFB Stahlhelm Dortmund Invitation Postcard Old Fighters Meeting

Very interesting original 1935 German political veterans organization postcard/invitation from Dortmund, connected with the N.S.D.F.B. (Stahlhelm) — the Nationalsozialistischer Deutscher Frontkämpferbund (Stahlhelm), the organization that developed from the famous Der Stahlhelm veterans association.

The typed heading reads:

“N.S.D.F.B. (Stahlhelm)
Ortsgruppe Dtmd.-Süd.”

Meaning:

“National Socialist German Front Fighters’ League (Stahlhelm), Dortmund-South Local Group.”

The document is dated:

Dortmund, May 1, 1935
Töllnerstraße Nr. 11

It is addressed “Lieber Kamerad!” — “Dear Comrade!” and invites the recipient to an Ehrenabend unserer alten Kämpfer — an “evening of honor for our old fighters/veterans” — held Saturday, May 4, 1935 at 8:30 PM in the Protestant parish hall of the Mariengemeinde at Viktoriastraße 9.

Full Translation

Dear Comrade!

“I hereby cordially invite you to the evening of honor for our old fighters, to which you also belong, taking place on Saturday, May 4 of this year at 8:30 PM in the Protestant parish hall of the Marien congregation, Viktoriastraße No. 9.”

It concludes with the period political greeting:

“Front-Heil-Hitler!”

and is signed beneath, followed by the title:

“stellv. Ortsgruppenführer”
— Deputy Local Group Leader

The reverse is addressed to:

Comrade Xaver Ruf
Dortmund
Präsidentenstraße

and bears an original green 5 Pfennig Deutsches Reich Hindenburg postal stamp, cancelled:

DORTMUND – 1.5.35

There is also a postal instructional marking:

“Vergiß nicht Straße und Hausnummer anzugeben!”
