WW1 WWI Imperial German Framed Military Photo General Paul Von Kneussl

An original framed portrait photograph of General Paul von Kneußl (1862–1928), one of the most distinguished commanders of the Imperial German Army during the First World War. Kneußl is depicted in full dress uniform wearing an impressive medal bar and holding his dress saber with portepee, presented in an attractive original period decorative frame.

General von Kneußl was a highly respected Bavarian officer who commanded the 11th Bavarian Infantry Division before assuming command of the renowned I Royal Bavarian Reserve Corps (I. Königlich Bayerisches Reserve-Korps). His corps saw extensive combat on the Western Front, including operations during the Battle of Verdun, the Somme, and numerous major campaigns throughout World War I. His leadership earned him some of the German Empire’s highest military decorations, including the prestigious Pour le Mérite.

The reverse retains the original photographer/dealer stamp for Karl Gruber, Wiesbaden, further supporting the period authenticity of this impressive display piece.
