Excellent original WHW Winterhilfswerk 1941/42 order and invoice document for the production/delivery of 2,000 collection badges, specifically Abzeichen Nr. 8 – “Bäuerin” (Farm Woman/Peasant Woman).

The document is headed “WHW 1941/42 – Auftrag und Rechnung” (Order and Invoice) and bears the WHW eagle emblem with swastika. It states:

“Im Namen des Winterhilfswerkes des Deutschen Volkes, Berlin, werden geliefert:”
“On behalf of the Winter Relief Organization of the German People, Berlin, the following are supplied:”

2,000 Stück Abzeichen Nr. 8 – Bäuerin
2,000 pieces, Badge No. 8 – Farm Woman

The price is recorded as RM 32.68 per 1,000 badges, for a total invoice of RM 65.36.

The document was paid September 16, 1941, by check No. 75315.

Especially interesting are the original commercial stamps. The “Stempel des Bemalers” (stamp of the painter/finisher) appears to identify Theodor Morgenstern, a wood and toy business/sawmill in Seiffen im Erzgebirge, an area famous for its traditional wooden toy industry.
