WW2 Nazi German 1943 Third Reich Munich Bavaria Hall of fame statue monument photo Postcard

Original WWII-era German postcard showing the Bavaria statue and Ruhmeshalle (Hall of Fame) in Munich, captioned:

“München – Bavaria mit Ruhmeshalle”
Translation: “Munich – Bavaria with the Hall of Fame.”

The card was genuinely postally used in 1943 and bears a green 6 Pfennig Paul von Hindenburg definitive stamp tied by a Munich cancellation dated 17.8.43 (August 17, 1943).

Especially interesting is the large illustrated German wartime radio / Rundfunk slogan cancellation alongside the postal cancel. It reads:

“DER RUNDFUNK BRINGT UNTERHALTUNG, MEHR, DAS WISSEN!”

The cancel incorporates a radio-wave/broadcasting design, making this a nice piece of WWII German postal and communications history in addition to being a Munich architectural postcard.

The reverse contains a handwritten German message and is addressed to Lindau, Bavaria.

The front provides a clear prewar/wartime view of the monumental Bavaria statue overlooking the Ruhmeshalle, one of Munich’s best-known 19th-century landmarks.

Good original used condition with normal age toning, corner and edge wear, handling marks and writing consistent with an approximately 80-year-old mailed postcard. Please examine all photos for exact condition.
