WW2 Nazi German Third Reich 1940 Straubing-Bogen KdF Stamp Collectors Exhibition Feldpost Postcard

Original WWII German KdF philatelic exhibition Feldpost card produced for the 1. KdF Werbeschau of the KdF collectors’ group Straubing-Bogen, held on 8–9 June 1940.

The left side features an attractive full-color illustrated map of Straubing and Bogen, showing the Danube (Donau), roads and railway lines connecting the two locations, along with their respective municipal coats of arms.

Printed beneath the map:

“1. KdF. Werbeschau
Gau Bayr. Ostmark
der KdF. Sammlergruppe
Straubing-Bogen
im Kulturhaussaal in Straubing
am 8. und 9. Juni 1940”

Translation:

“1st KdF Promotional Exhibition, Bavarian Eastern March Gau, of the KdF Collectors Group Straubing-Bogen, in the Kulturhaus hall in Straubing, June 8 and 9, 1940.”

The card is additionally marked “Feldpost” and has an excellent circular commemorative cancellation:

“STRAUBING – Kraft durch Freude – Werbeschau – Kreis-Sammlergruppe – 9.6.1940”

The cancellation incorporates a central swastika emblem and is dated June 9, 1940, corresponding directly with the final day of the exhibition.

KdF – Kraft durch Freude (“Strength Through Joy”) was the NS leisure organization that organized cultural, recreational and collecting activities throughout Germany. This card documents the philatelic/collecting side of the organization and is especially desirable with its event-specific dated cancellation.

Condition: Original period card in very good overall condition with normal age and handling wear. There is a small penciled collector notation at the lower left. Please see photos for exact condition.
