WWII German Third Reich 1934 & 1938 Official Government Swastika Stamp Sets – 23 Used – Michel D132-D154
Offered here is a collection of two complete sets totaling 23 original Third Reich official/service stamps, all in used/cancelled condition. These are especially attractive examples for the collector because together they represent the two principal prewar designs of German official stamps carrying prominent government and NSDAP symbolism.
The first group is the complete 1934 Government Official “Swastika in Oak Wreath” issue, Michel D132-D143, consisting of all 12 denominations from 3pf through 50pf. This issue was introduced in 1934 for official governmental correspondence and was printed on swastika-watermarked paper. The Michel numbering and denominations are confirmed as D132 through D143.
The second group is the complete 1938 NSDAP Official Service issue, Michel D144-D154, consisting of all 11 denominations from 1pf through 40pf. These stamps feature the German eagle and swastika above a pedestal with “Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei” around the frame. They were issued January 26, 1938, in sheets of 100 and also have a swastika watermark. The 1938 series was issued by the German government specifically for official NSDAP mail.
