WWI 1918 German Soldiers Feldpost Döberitz Military Training Grounds Postcard

Original WWI-era German military Feldpost postcard from the Truppen-Übungsplatz Döberitz, the large German Army training ground west of Berlin.

The printed caption on the reverse reads:

“Truppen-Übungsplatz Döberitz – Spielplatz mit Kegelbahn”

Translation: “Döberitz Troop Training Ground – Recreation Ground with Bowling Alley.”

The photograph shows the military training-area grounds with a large flock of sheep, shepherd, dog and long building in the background.

This card is especially interesting because it was actually used as Feldpost during WWI. The reverse bears handwritten correspondence, military-related notations, a circular postal cancellation dated 23.9.18 (September 23, 1918) and a prominent purple “Geprüft” censorship/inspection marking.

The card is addressed to Dülken, Rheinland, and was produced by Otto Skovranck, Königl. Hofphotogr., Berlin W. – Döberitz (Royal Court Photographer).

A nice original piece combining WWI German Feldpost, Döberitz military history, troop training, censorship markings and photographic postcard collecting.

Condition shows normal age and postal wear, including corner/edge wear, toning, writing and handling marks. Please inspect all photographs for exact condition.
