WWI Imperial German Fallen Soldier Enemy Territory 1914 Military Grave Postcard

Original WWI-era German military postcard featuring a dramatic cemetery scene titled:

“Abendfrieden in Feindesland.”

Translation:

“Evening Peace in Enemy Territory.”

The atmospheric image shows the silhouette of a soldier seated among large grave crosses at sunset, creating a somber wartime memorial scene. The title suggests a moment of evening peace while serving or fighting in enemy territory.

The reverse is extensively handwritten in old German script and retains its original 10 Heller Austro-Hungarian postage stamp, which adds additional WWI postal-history interest. The card appears to have been sent during the wartime period.

This is an especially evocative WWI postcard combining military history, battlefield remembrance, soldiers’ graves, wartime correspondence and Austro-Hungarian postal history.

Condition shows normal age and postal wear, including toning, handwriting, minor edge/corner wear and surface wear consistent with an original mailed postcard. Stamp remains attached.
