WWI Imperial German Red Cross Soldiers Comrades Bavarian Military Postcard 1914

Original WWI German military art postcard titled “Kriegskameraden”, meaning “War Comrades.”

The colorful front depicts two German/Bavarian soldiers sharing a railway compartment during World War I. One soldier is relaxing across the seat while talking with his fellow serviceman, with a Bavarian village visible through the railway-car window.

The reverse identifies this as an official postcard issued by the:

“Bayer. Landeskomitee für freiwillige Krankenpflege im Kriege”

Translation:

“Bavarian State Committee for Voluntary Nursing Care During the War.”

It is additionally marked:

“Offizielle Postkarte” — “Official Postcard.”

A prominent Red Cross emblem appears at the top of the reverse. The card was produced by Kunstanstalt Hans Kohler & Co., München (Munich).

This “Kriegskameraden” design is a documented postcard from the Bavarian State Committee’s WWI series, making it an interesting piece of German Red Cross, Bavarian and First World War history.

The postcard is unused/unposted and remains attractive for its age. There is normal light edge and corner wear consistent with an original WWI-era postcard. Please examine the photos carefully for exact condition. Item shown is the exact item you will receive.
