Original WWI-era German postcard showing “Strassburg aus der Vogelschau” — a colorful bird’s-eye view of Strasbourg and the surrounding Alsace region.

The detailed illustration identifies numerous surrounding towns and locations, including Kehl, Appenweier, Willstätt, Neudorf, Königshofen, Schiltigheim, Kronenburg and others.

The reverse is handwritten and bears a clear Strassburg postal cancellation dated September 24, 1917, placing its use during World War I. It also has an additional blue military/Feldpost-style marking.

The handwriting is difficult and partially obscured by the postal markings. The clearest portions appear to include personal greetings and a reference to Feldpost. The addressee appears to be in Düsseldorf, with the street written as Ellerstr. 187.

The cancellation is clearly STRASSBURG and dated 24.9.17.
