WWII German Afrika Korps Heia Safari! DAK March Song Lyric Card Postcard Africa Campaign

Original WWII-era German “Heia Safari!” song/lyric card featuring the well-known marching song associated with German troops serving in the North African campaign.

The front features a period image of a camel caravan crossing the desert, followed by the title:

“Heia Safari! – Marschlied der Deutschen Afrika-Kämpfer”
(Heia Safari! – Marching Song of the German Africa Fighters)

The card credits Werner Plücker for the words and Martin Schönicke for the music. The printed lyrics repeatedly reference “Das deutsche Korps in Afrika” and describe fighting in the desert and against England, making this an interesting piece of Afrika Korps / DAK wartime ephemera.

The imagery and subject matter make this especially desirable for collectors of the Deutsches Afrikakorps, Erwin Rommel-era North Africa campaign material, German military songs, propaganda ephemera, and WWII paper collectibles.
