WWII German Fallen Soldier KIA Eastern Front Death Notice Werner Wagner EK2 Panzer Badge 1944

Original WWII German death notice (Traueranzeige) issued for Obergefreiter Werner Wagner, who was killed on the Eastern Front on 9 March 1944 at only 21 years of age. This moving family memorial was printed in Bochum-Werne and dated 14 June 1944.

“With our thoughts always with him and in the firm hope of a happy reunion, we received the incomprehensible news that our dearly beloved and unforgettable son, brother, nephew and cousin, Obergefreiter Werner Wagner, holder of the Iron Cross 2nd Class, Wound Badge and Panzer Assault Badge, gave his life on the Eastern Front on 9 March 1944 at nearly 22 years of age. A great void has been left in our family. He was our pride and our happiness. Whoever knew him knows what we have lost.”

Condition
Original period item showing age, folds, creasing, edge wear, tears, and a prominent vertical split repaired with old tape near the top. Remains fully readable and displays well despite the damage.
